Fail. Try again.

So for a first race in Belgium this season, I didn't make much of an impression. Which is disappointing because the lap actually suited me for once, hilly (but not too much), not too many turns. The thing was that there wasn't much of a bunch (we were only 40) and that in addition to the 700km in the car from the day before came the 300km from that morning (amazing for the legs), and if that wasn't enough, I decided to make as many stupid choices as I could. So I decided to keep my armwarmers (I don't really know what they are called in english, the french call them "manchettes") on, and after 3 laps, I realized that it was too warm so I let myself drop into the last positions of the mini-bunch to throw them away. But I was already getting tired, in the front they got faster and faster, and I couldn't quite get back to the front. So I started having to close gaps and eventually, with the heavy wind I finally couldn't do it anymore and got dropped. So I stopped after only 30km, bummed and not very happy about my amazing choices. But we do learn from failure and it's just part of the game. Whatever, try again, fail better ;)
