Try again, fail better.

For a second race in Belgium this year it could have been worse, but still I can't be satisfied by it. It had all started pretty good, I kept myself in the middle or first half of the bunch, and a part from some accelerations, I didn't have any problems following. The trouble started when I got back to far, and an attack made the bunch get faster. The girl in front of me left a gap, and I closed it too quickly, I kept doing that until I was so tired that my legs wouldn't follow anymore and gave out on me. I was handed backwards and I couldn't even follow the second part of the bunch that was split off during the attack. Worse, the girls in that bunch got back to the main group and FINISHED the race. I for my part did only 6 laps of the inital 12 and was taken out.
I would've been ok with it if there hadn't been the crappy races in Tetange (where I stopped after one lap because my legs again wouldn't do what my head knew I could and I was so frustrated that I quit) and the nationals in Dippach. It's frustrating as hell when everybody tells you that you progressed and you feel like you regressed, that all the training that you did and do isn't worth anything. But hey: there are things far worse than that in life.
